7 Best Shampoos For Wavy & Curly Hair!

A few days ago, I wrote a blog on ‘shampoos for straight hair‘. Though I shared my experience through it, I could not be biased towards it. I too love curly and wavy hair. They are just so good to look at and play with!

So here I am. This blog post goes to all my wavy and curly hair friends. I interviewed two of my sisters and my best friend for this, so the feedback on every shampoo is based on their experience. They have Wavy Hair 2B, Curly Hair 3C and Curly Hair 3B respectively.

7 Shampoos For Wavy-Curly Hair

P.S. : The survey is based on the products available in the Indian market and the results experienced by the people I interviewed. The results may vary.

Garnier Ultra Blends Anti Hairfall1. Garnier Ultra Blends Royal Jelly And Lavender Anti Hairfall:

This range from Garnier can satisfy any hair type. Though different people have different needs, I have noticed people having wavy to curly hair using this more. The Royal Jelly strengthens hair by providing essential amino acids and vitamins whereas the Lavender extract helps in renew follicle growth.

Pros:

  • Strengthens hair
  • Makes hair manageable
  • Forms no build up on scalp
  • Makes hair more healthy

Cons:

  • Does not help much in hairfall ( even though the shampoo is actually meant for anti hairfall)
  • Needs a follow up by conditioner
  • The hair gets greasy by 3rd day.

Price: Rs. 120/ 175 ml.

TRESemmé Keratin Smooth2. TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Infusing Shampoo:

TresEmmé is one the best salon style hair products that has been available in normal market for some time now. The products have definitely made its customers happy. Curly hair is hard to manage when it starts breaking out and the product is just the solution for that.

It has Keratin which nourishes your hair to give you straighter, smoother, shinier and manageable hair. It also makes your hair frizz-free.

Pros:

  • Strengthens hair
  • Frizz free after first wash
  • Reduces hairfall

Cons:

  • Adds a coat to your hair ( you’ll realize this once you use hair straightener/iron)
  • Is not that effective in humid conditions and if you sweat a lot.

Price: Rs. 386/ 740 ml.

Herbal Essences Totally Twisted3. Clairol Herbal Essences Totally Twisted:

Another trust worthy brand. The shampoo is infused with wild berry extracts that help manage your hair. It is also good for controlling frizz throughout the day.

Pros:

  • Makes your waves and curls look good and textured
  • Hair becomes manageable
  • Adds natural shine
  • Bouncy curls
  • Manages frizz even in humid conditions

Cons:

  • It needs a follow up by the conditioner and scrunching gel
  • The product is not easily available in Indian market. If you find one, know how to spot the fake ones though.

Price: Rs. 190/ 300 ml.

The Body Shop Banana Shampoo4. The Body Shop Banana Shampoo:

This one works miraculously on all straight hair,  wavy and curly hair. The real banana puree helps in nourishing the hair and making it more manageable.

Price: Rs. 795/ 205 ml.

TBS Rainforest Moisture5. The Body Shop Rainforest Moisture:

Interestingly two TBS products made the list. If you have curly and dry hair, this shampoo would work wonders on you. Made with natural extracts like honey, sugarcane and nut oils, this shampoo promises good hair inside and out.

  • Hair is manageable
  • Hair condition stays great after the wash

One of the best shampoos worldwide, the shampoo is infused with coconut milk, coconut oils and egg proteins.

  • Strengthens hair
  • Moisturises both hair and scalp

Cons:

  • Not good for dry hair

OGX Quenching + Coconut Curls ShampooIf you have dry hair, I would recommend the “Weightless Hydrating Coconut Water Shampoo” from the same range. Also the ‘Quenching  Coconut Curls Shampoo’ is good and specially meant for the curly hair.

Price: Rs. 625/ 385 ml.

L'Oreal Professional Liss Unlimited7. L’Oréal Professional Liss Unlimited:

If you are looking for a shampoo that will make your hair look great and frizz-free, opt for this one. This shampoo is made for ‘rebellious hair’.

Pros:

  • It makes your hair soft to touch

Apparently the results of using this shampoo was so good it literally did not have any flaw. Use the entire range for even more beautiful and tamed hair.

Since I was interviewing two people, I chose the best 7 for now. If you have used any of these, do let me know how it went. For more suggestions, feel free to comment.
